I updated my Windows 7 PC and Windows 8.1 laptop to Windows 10 and they both switched to the old mouse cursors, with the old egg timer too. After I installed Windows 10, I actually decided to do a factory reset and even after that, it was still the old cursors. Anyway, if you go into Control Panel Hardware and Sound and then select mouse under Devices and Printers, you can change the different points under the 'pointers' menu.
