Look in the “Device with Removable Storage area,” see if the device is present, if so? Do the following: to “ setup” the (' player') for “Installation.” II. Right click on ( DVD) “ Media Player” select (“ Install”) follow all instructions thereafter. If the area is (Blank?), “go to,” and 'click' on the 'Start button' click all “Programs” scroll for a “ Media Disk Player”, open, and do the (“same as above”) for the installation. Note: “Do the same for “ Setup” (above) “ Install.” “If this helped, ratings it is appreciated, thanks.” Answered on May 02, 2010.
Sata Drivers Windows Vista
Hi I just bought a SATA drive. I was using the RAID 0 which I am replacing with the single SATA drive. The RAID worked fine, but I can't get the SATA drive to work. The manual for the main board says that I have to set a jumper to choose between RAID or SATA.
The jumper that it refers to simply does not exist on my board. While attempting to install Windows 2000, Windows does not see the drive, unless I add in the RAID drivers during the OS install. Even then Windows cannot format the drive. It'll try for a long time, more that 12 hours, then report an error, saying the the drive is bad. I think that this is just because it's looking at the RAID controller, which does in fact see the drive. It looks like my board is Revision B+, but the manual that I have is for A+. Revision B+ does not show that jumper that I can't find.
I don't see anything in the manual about needing to install the RAID drivers to get windows to see the SATA drive. Oh also, I'd like to add, when Windows is loading from the CD, the HD drive light stays on, like the information is going from the cd to the HD. Now, if I don't use the RAID drivers, Windows will say 'No hard drive found.' If I do use the RAID drivers, when I try to format the drive, the HD light only comes on for a second right at the start, then stays off.

The status bar progresses, progressively slower, and slower, but the HD light never so much as blinks on. No, for some reason I couldn't get the SATA plug jammed in the J31 IDE controller right, so I just stuck in in the J25 SATA port. I was looking at the drivers that you pointed me to, and it has become apparent that the RAID controller, and the SATA controller are one in the same.
It does make sense that I would have to install the RAID driver for the SATA drive to work. This SATA controller is kind of old. I wonder if the old driver that I have cannot handle the new SATA drive. I would think that the drive would be backward compatible, but I will see if the RAID driver that you pointed me to is a newer version then the one that I have.
If this is not the case, I will do some looking with WD to see if maybe the drive cannot run on this older SATA controller. Hey, thanks for your help. I installed the new HP371 RAID controller driver, and not it seems to be working. It is still acting strangely. The hard drive light does not always come on whil the drive is being accesses. For example, while I was formatting the drive during the W2K install, the drive light was not on.
This lead me to beleive that the new driver did not fix the problem. But I just left it alone and went to bed. In the morning, the format was complete. I completed the OS install this morning, and all seems to be working fine.
