Well I have finally gotten around to the EPA. It seems every time I turn around my skills button turns to a black square. It also likes to crash when going to the utility floor or whatever it was.

This was after I got the power on. The game will crash and it continues to use up more and more memory. I can send you the saved game if you want. I had it using 1.5GB of ram/swap file. But anyways, I would like a little direction from someone regarding the EPA. I have read the readme with the little spoiler. But I am stuck, I did the Doctor quests, got the generator runnign for power and fixed the 1 hologram.

How do you fix the other ones. I have tried a few things and nothing is working.

Vic is only talking about the technical manual, not a new item. However, it does have a use unlike before. As for the junkie, Dude101 is right (he better be, he helped create the thing!). Just ask around.

I am running through everything again, from the ground level down. My PC got into Klamath's sewer system. There is a door that will not open (has a workbench that may have some nice loot). It says that it is an electric door and that the PC is not strong enough to open it.

There is electricity, since I got the crap zapped out of my PC. Can the door be opened and if so, how do I insert tab A into slot B here? I have tried science and repair on the unpowered door to no effect. You need a tool or something for that. Its been a while for me. But I also need some help with the EPA again.

Fixing the voice computer.I cant find it. And the game seems to be getting unstable. It randomly goes to a black screen when I change floors looking for this effing computer. I have to kill fallout2 as a process and restart the game. Its random, but it seems like the utility level is more frequent.

I jsut want to finish the damn EPA map and go on my merry way. Might as well delete it all and reinstall it.

How the hell do these files get corrupted anyways? And could you at least tell me which level that voice computer is on?

I am going bonkers. Don't just delete it and start over. Learn how to fix it now, then you'll know how to deal with it later.and it will happen again. It just happens.

The game wasn't originally meant to work like this. However, it will work right after you get rid of the bad files. As for me helping you with the voice computer, pay attention here, in case you didn't believe me the other times I wrote it: I.don't.give.gameplay.advice. It only adds art files, and will work fine with this mod.

You have to do a straight run to Klamath(do not forget Klint), talk to the girl to get the missing trapper quest, go to trapper town, there is a girl on the second room on the left building, go to her locker, take a rubber boot, go straight to the toxic cave, rescue smiley (do not forget to give the extra boot inside the closet to klint), come back, ask smiley to teach you how to skin geckos, ask his wife to forget suliks debit.

Can you be both Shaman and Warrior? For the gareth situation his father is in the tunnels, you know it because when you 'see' him the hero reacts + his body has something which identifies him.

And you can either be warrior OR shaman not both. If you wanna be shaman make sure you do everything he says and take the nicest route always.

Klamat, vegetable thief quest: Ive spotted and hunted the thief, tryed all dialogues options avalaible (with & without providing booze) and it seems I cant avoid fight. So Ive killed the old one and let the child alive.

Then get back to the gardener, but he keep asking for a proof. Worry is that I cant speak with the child and dont find anything beside 3 empty bootles in the romm they where in. Tried to harm the kid so he might be scarred, doesnt sound to work. Tried to provide him all type of foods avalaible there, noway. Tried some beverage, even alcohol one (then things started to be to worse for me to go further), no more changes.

Sound Like I wont achieve that quest. I've played through the game with Megamod installed and I'm almost ready to go to the Enclave, but I don't want to do that prior to visiting Vault 14 and EPA. I found Vault 14, but I'm unable to find the key. I heard that this key is found in a special encounter. I have Luck 10 and pretty high Outdoorsman skill, are there any other requirements, as I haven't been able to get that encounter in spite of many gameplay hours?

Is there any particular spot where the encounter should happen or should I just wander the map aimlessly? Also, I haven't been able to ask Myron about the EPA.

I've found the cure for Jet (with some help from Myron) and I've been to a few places with Myron, but I've ditched him a while ago. Where should I take Myron in order to get the EPA information? That random encounter can happen anywhere. However, it doesn't just happen. You have to have gone to another location first. And even then you have to talk to someone before getting the information about that location. So, the order is: talk to a specific character, go to a certain location, possibly use a certain item, wander a brief time on the worldmap to get the encounter, get the key, go to Vault 14.

Hmmm, i dont have this quest. I save the harvest and finish those other quests too. Find Vic is my quest now. Do i have to good version? You just have sex with her, thats all.

I will tell you this. There is more to just having sex with her.

You can't get her as a party member or anything like that, but there is a small quest in the Den regarding her. Hmmm, i spoke with Emely with different approaches. Have speech 95, but CH 5. However, I'm experiencing a Karma drop when entering Vault 14 map. That is unfortunate, as I've played through Vault 14 and I liked it, but I like my flawless Karma better so I haven't saved that game. Seems like.

As long as you have stepped onto that map, and then talk to him (threatening him in a way), then he will move on and have something new to say. OK, i started as a Male character.

And regarding the Myron issue, look at per's guide for the exact part of the map when you have to step on, get myron to stick close to you and bring him there. He'll have floating text, you do something then you can get him to tell you the EPA location. Since it is a stash site, and you know of it as such, then you aren't really trying to loot from a body, and the trait shouldn't apply. After all, Blondie and Tuco wouldn't be considered grave robbers for digging up the unknown grave next to Arch Stanton for the money inside! HOW did you kill the plants? Its not whether you kill the plants but HOW you did. You get 2 Black Powder from Hakunin. Use it on the plants, They fall death on the ground. Does that have anything to do with Hakunin imbuing a weapon for you? I can't figure out what the ingredients are that he needs. I never got a quest when I talked to Hakunin the first time to kill the plants, nor did I get one from anyone else.

What am I missing? Also, can he imbue throwing knives? They're my character's primary weapon. I did see a.pro file in there whose.frm was of a throwing knife with poison on it like the one in Hakunin's inventory, but it looked incomplete, missing name, description, etc. I hope it still works.

I couldn't figure that out. I trapped him in the well but when i blow the well, even if i sneak out of the town, in the dialog with english bob i say that i've been seen and he gives me a report. Every time i talk to him he gives another report. I can't give it to jack so i couldn't find anything to do. I guess i have to find another way to kill mickey but i really don't know what else to do if i'm not supposed to blow the well. How do you kill people from a distance without making a sound? Think about it man.

What kinds of weopons can perform that function? There was already a use for the card, I think, either in Navarro or the Gecko power plant. I never changed that.

Nope, the yellow card from the crashed verti in Klamath had no use. It is one of the many mysteries of Fallout 2. Supposedly it was to open one of the doors at the Enclave. According to Per it actually wasn't in the original 1.0 game but came in a patch.

Either way though, it doesn't do anything in the game. Did you guys ever think about modding a use for it? I mean, you've already tied up so many other loose ends.

Hello, I'm a first time poster on these forums. I've been going through the EPA-map but had no success. The only thing I got to do was get the Doc the pelts he wanted, but after that, nothing.

Yes, I alredy found the way to the actual base. But when I'm trying to repair certain things, nothing happens.

And a lot of the doors, maybe half of them, won't open, nothing happens when I try to lockpick them. Well, I'm beginning to wonder that there's something wrong with my files, since I've gone through the places I can access so many times, and the two garage doors outside the base also won't open, and when I try to lockpick them, nothing happens.

I had the same kind of a thing with Bunker21, where all the people inside the base were unresponsive. I later found out that something was indeed wrong with the files from the official megamod -thread.

You are just having difficulty figuring out how to get through the EPA. I have already corrected the issues with the warehouse doors outside for the next release.that was a bug. But, overall, the doors cannot be lockpicked anywhere in the EPA.

As for the Bunker 21, I have corrected this for the next release, too. However, I provided an easy fix for this in the other thread that just involved moving a file and loading a game from before you first entered that area. Did you catch the kid sneaking around before killing the guy with the thieve's stone? I think you probably did, because I'm not sure the stone is even present unless you've seen the kid sneaking. Not sure, though.

Anyway, two possibilities. 1) If you DIDN'T catch the kid sneaking into the garden at night, you have to do that BEFORE you kill the man with the stone. 2) If you DID catch the kid sneaking before killing the man with the stone, then it is just a matter of dialogue with Sam. Choose the option that says something like, 'It's taken care of. You won't be having any more problems with thievery.' Then, Sam asks you for proof. If you have the stone in your inventory, you can choose a dialogue option to show him the stone.

I hung around until dark, but nothing happened, so I assumed there was another way to go about the quest. What exactly do you have to do to catch him, just rest until night? I see people say stuff about getting him into the well, but so far I'm the only idiot who can't figure out how to do it.

I tried messing with the well covering near Marcus, but nothing happened, and Mickey has no different dialogue options or any way to get him into the well that I can find. I'm really lost. Also, what on earth are those 4 footlockers doing in the northern part of the area you can't get to on the main map of Broken Hills? Just there for fun?. Can someone help me with the shaman quest? The one to create the 'magic item' and the one witch I've to unarmed nobody until de next moon.

I assume you mean hakunin's quest to become his apprentice? It's pretty staight forward quest though the time limit is pretty unforgiving.

You need to do couple things.get the quest just before you leave arroy -raise karma to 30 or above -be back before some date I don't know (not much more than what it takes to travel to klamath and back without delays which means no sleeping which leads to no fighting) -be able to take care of the accused of cheating quest because hakunin won't proceed untill that has been dealt with (and this comes active once you visited klamath and came back) I don't remember which quest I did in order to raise karma above 30 but I do remember that I didn't have to hurt anyone doing them. Ive made a custom character, will that change anything? Presumably the quests you can get are affected by your skills/stats, I too made a custom char (unlucky, weak and all others high) and tagged speech since it has lots of uses.

And got the shaman quest (which enables you to make use of plants, new kinds of drugs to be exact.too bad I havent used any of them) on the other hand the master warrior says I'm too crappy fighter to learn from him (not a suprice since my unarmed and melee are somewhere below 50%). Edit 2: did have a thought,maybe english bob is the snitch and set me up,but as i said,all dialogues are empty and theres no one to talk to at thieves den,just the one with bob about metzger attacking me and me killing him,even if i didnt kill him and ran away. I always had them on me, and that might mean only the dialog needs to be corrected. Myron is the answer just do what you did again. I had some problems with the shops in san fran but cleaning them did the trick. (meaning buying everything they got and dumping it in a pile in the middle of desert and stealing money back ofcourse, a cheat but I need ammo not some damn rusty knife's or dosen rusty metal armors so I can live with it). You need to do couple things.get the quest just before you leave arroy -raise karma to 30 or above -be back before some date I don't know (not much more than what it takes to travel to klamath and back without delays which means no sleeping which leads to no fighting) -be able to take care of the accused of cheating quest because hakunin won't proceed untill that has been dealt with (and this comes active once you visited klamath and came back) I don't remember which quest I did in order to raise karma above 30 but I do remember that I didn't have to hurt anyone doing them. Only by fixing the problem with the magnetic coils, interrupting the conversation and ordering them to stop can the player stop the gridlock. There isn't anything wrong with it.unless you have a missing script. But that wouldn't make sense if you have the rest of the mod working right. And Chris did a great job putting the EPA together from the design document, but he added a few things, too, that he either wanted to see or needed to be there to fill in the gaps. I did NOT say to remove the vault13.gam file from your data/data folder. If you do that, your game will be really screwed up. And you need to load a game from before you enter the vault map itself.

The cave area is ok. But if you try to use a game where you are on the same map as any of the deathclaws, then your game will still be messed up.
